Hackmatack Award Ceremony
I am
thrilled that my book entitled Pier 21: Stories Near and Far has been
nominated for the 2009 Hackmatack Children’s Choice Book Award http://www.hackmatack.ca/. I will be attending
the award ceremony, which will be held in Halifax on May 8, 2009 at Pier
21. I will also be visiting schools in
the Truro and Tatamagouche area prior to the awards ceremony. If you would like to book me for a school

Red Maple Award Ceremony
I was very
excited to learn that my book entitled Island of Hope and Sorrow: The Story
of Grosse Ile was nominated for the 2009 Red Maple Award http://www.accessola.com/forest2009/RedMaple/index2.html. I hope to be able to
attend the awards ceremony, which will be held in Toronto in May.
